Project Zomboid server guide

PvP, safehouses and factions on a Project Zomboid server

PVP turns player damage on or off. With Safety System on, each player chooses when they are open to PvP. Player Safehouse lets players claim a safehouse, and Faction lets them form factions. All are in Server Settings.

PvP

  • PVP: players can hurt and kill each other.
  • Safety System and Show Safety: players switch their own PvP mode, shown by a skull.
  • PVP Melee Damage Modifier and PVP Firearm Damage Modifier: 30 and 50 by default.
  • Announce Death: a chat message when a player dies.

Safehouses

  • Player Safehouse or Admin Safehouse: who may claim one.
  • Safehouse Allow Trepass, Safehouse Allow Loot and Safehouse Allow Fire: what others can do inside.
  • Safehouse Day Survived To Claim and Safe House Removal Time: when players can claim, and when absent members are removed.
  • Disable Safehouse When Owner Connected: protected only while the owners are offline.

Factions

Faction lets players create factions, Faction Day Survived To Create delays it, and Faction Players Required For Tag sets the members needed for a tag.

Questions

How do I make a PvE server?

Turn off PVP in Server Settings and restart. Players can still claim safehouses if Player Safehouse is on.
