Project Zomboid server guide

Change your mods' sandbox settings on a Project Zomboid server

Open Sandbox Settings in HaruHost. Every active mod that has sandbox options gets its own section with its settings named as the mod names them, so you change them like the vanilla ones and save.

How it works

  • HaruHost reads each active mod's sandbox options and their English names from the mod's own files.
  • The values live in the server's servertest_SandboxVars.lua, next to the vanilla settings.
  • Saving changes only the values you edit; the rest of the file stays as it was.

A new mod's settings

A mod's settings appear after the server has downloaded it, so start the server once after adding a mod. Until then, HaruHost lists it as not downloaded yet.

While the server runs

Save while it runs and the change waits for the next start; settings changed in game meanwhile are kept.

Questions

Why don't my mod settings show?

The mod has no sandbox options, or the server hasn't downloaded it yet. Restart the server once after adding the mod.
