Stack sizes and crafting on ARK: Survival Evolved

Open the Item Settings card and raise Item Stack Size Multiplier; 2 doubles every stack. For exact sizes, such as 1000 stone or 100 tranq arrows, add the item on the Item Max Quantity card. What an item costs to craft is set on the Item Crafting Costs card.

Every item

Item Stack Size Multiplier (ItemStackSizeMultiplier) on the Item Settings card multiplies the stack size of every item, from 1 to 10.

Single items

  1. Open the Item Max Quantity card.
  2. Pick the item.
  3. Set Max Item Quantity. With Ignore Global Multiplier on, the item stacks to exactly that number.

Crafting costs

  1. Open the Item Crafting Costs card.
  2. Choose the item and the resource it needs.
  3. Set Base Amount, and turn on Require Exact Type when only that resource may be used.

Item stats

The Item Stat Clamps card caps item stats, such as armor, durability or weapon damage, by stat number and value. Add ClampItemStats=True to the GameUserSettings.ini card so the caps apply.

Weight

Bigger stacks don't change an item's weight. Raise weight on Player Stats or Dino Stats if players can't carry what they gather.

Questions

Why didn't the stack multiplier change some items?

Some items keep a stack size of 1, such as weapons and saddles. Items with their own value on the Item Max Quantity card use that value instead.

How do I make something cheaper to craft?

Add the item on the Item Crafting Costs card and set a lower Base Amount for each resource.
