ARK: Survival Evolved server guide

How to join an ARK: Survival Evolved dedicated server

In ARK: Survival Evolved, choose Join ARK, set the session filter to Unofficial and search for the server's name, the Server Title on HaruHost's Details tab. When you host on your own address, players on the same network as the server use its Local Address instead; with the Tunnel on Linux, they join from the list like everyone else.

From the server list

  1. Start ARK: Survival Evolved and choose Join ARK.
  2. Set the session filter to Unofficial.
  3. Search for the server's name, shown as Server Title on the Details tab and set as Server Name on the Base Config card.
  4. Join and enter the server password if it has one.

From the same house

When you host on your own address, players on the same network as the server use its Local Address, on the Details tab. In the game's main menu, they open the console and type open followed by that address.

With the Tunnel on Linux, players at home join from the server list like everyone else.

On Linux with the Tunnel

When HaruHost runs as a service on Linux, a tunneled server shows in the same list at its public address, and friends join it there, with no router setup on your side. See hosting without port forwarding.

By address

For a server on Ports, on Windows or a VPS, friends can also join by address: in the game's main menu, they open the console and type open followed by the Server Address from the Details tab. The server's ports must be reachable from the internet; see ports and port forwarding.
