ARK: Survival Evolved server guide

Keep your ARK: Survival Evolved server updated

When ARK: Survival Evolved updates, players on the new version can't join a server on the old one. Press Update in HaruHost, or create an automation that warns players, backs up and updates as soon as the update is out. The server stays on its branch, Latest or Preaquatica.

Update now

Press Update on the server. The Details tab shows the branch and the version the server runs.

Update automatically

  1. Create an automation that runs when an ARK: Survival Evolved update is released.
  2. Add the steps, for example a message to players, a backup, the update and a restart.
  3. From then on, the server updates itself and players see a warning first.

More on the Automation page.

Mods

Mods update when the server starts, so a restart brings in new versions of your Workshop mods.

Questions

Why can't players join after an ARK update?

The game and the server are on different versions. Update the server and players can join again, or check that both are on the same branch.

Can HaruHost update every map of my cluster?

Yes. Add each server to the automation, or create one per server.
