ARK: Survival Evolved server guide

PvE and PvP settings on ARK: Survival Evolved

To make the server PvE, add ServerPVE=True to the GameUserSettings.ini card and restart. PvE dino rules such as dino decay and flyer carry are on the Dino Settings card, and the structure limit is on the Launch Arguments card.

PvE or PvP

  1. Open the server's Auto Config page and the GameUserSettings.ini card.
  2. Add ServerPVE=True under [ServerSettings] for PvE, or leave it out for PvP.
  3. Restart the server.

Other server rules go in the same card, such as PreventOfflinePvP=True for offline raid protection or PvEStructureDecayPeriodMultiplier for how fast abandoned bases decay on PvE.

Dinos on PvE and PvP

  • Disable Dino Decay (PvE) and PvE Dino Decay Period Multiplier.
  • Allow Flyer Carry (PvE), so flyers can pick up creatures and players on PvE.
  • PvP Dino Decay, for dino decay while offline raid protection is on.

Structures

  • Max Structures In Range on the Launch Arguments card, 1000 by default.
  • Auto Destroy Old Structures on the same card clears abandoned structures.

Tribes

Tribe size is a Game.ini line: add MaxNumberOfPlayersInTribe= with the size you want to the Game.ini card.
