ARK: Survival Evolved server guide

Set up an ARK: Survival Evolved cluster

Create one server per map on the same machine and give them the same Cluster ID on the Cluster card; survivors, tames and items then travel between them through obelisks and supply drops. The Sharing tab gives every map the same settings cards.

Connect the maps

  1. Create a server for each map on the same PC or Linux server.
  2. Open the Cluster card of the first server and set a Cluster ID.
  3. On the card's Sharing tab, add the other maps, so they use the same Cluster card.
  4. Choose what may travel. Prevent Upload and Prevent Download switches cover survivors, dinos and items separately, and Disable Tribute Downloads stops all downloads.
  5. Restart the servers.

HaruHost gives the maps on a machine one shared cluster folder, so there is no ClusterDirOverride to add.

The same settings on every map

Do the same on any other card, such as Dino Settings, Breeding, Harvest Settings, Mods or Player Role Settings. Change it once and every map gets the change at its next restart.

On Linux

Linux clusters work the same way. With the Tunnel, players join from the in-game server list and move between the maps from any home network; see cluster transfers.

Questions

How many maps can a cluster have?

As many as your machine can run and your plan has game servers; each map is one server. See memory and performance.

Do all maps need the same version?

Yes. Put every map on Latest or every map on Preaquatica; see Preaquatica.
