Fix the network with the Tunnel
- Install HaruHost on an Ubuntu machine with the one-command install, which runs it as a service.
- Create a server per map and choose Tunnel on the Connection step for each.
- Give the maps one Cluster ID.
- Players find the maps in the in-game server list and move between them through obelisks and supply drops.
Then check the cluster
- Every map has the same Cluster ID. Sharing one Cluster card through its Sharing tab makes sure of it.
- The maps run on the same machine.
- The Prevent Upload and Prevent Download switches and Disable Tribute Downloads are off for what should travel.
- The creature isn't blocked by Block Cluster Transfer on the Dino Class Restrictions card, and the dino's Minimum Dino Reupload Interval (sec) has passed.
- Every map runs the same version, Latest or Preaquatica.
Uploads that disappeared
Uploads expire after the time set on the Cluster card: Tribute Dino Expiration (sec) and Tribute Item Expiration (sec) are one day (86400 seconds) by default. Raise them if players take longer to download.
Questions
What is NAT loopback and why does ARK need it?
It lets a player on your network reach your server through your public address. Without it, players at home can't use the address the cluster hands out. With the Tunnel on Linux, the servers have a public address that works from inside and outside your network.
Can my cluster maps run on different machines?
Transfers need the maps on the same machine. Settings cards can be shared with servers on other machines.
