ARK: Survival Ascended server guide

Change XP rates on an ARK: Survival Ascended server

In Server Config, open the Rates & Experience card and set XP Multiplier; 2 doubles all experience for players and tames. Per-activity multipliers for kills, crafting, bosses, caves, alphas and explorer notes are on the same card. On Linux, add XPMultiplier to the GameUserSettings.ini card.

All experience

XP Multiplier (XPMultiplier) scales every kind of experience players and tames get.

Per activity

  • Kill XP Multiplier, Alpha Kill XP Multiplier, Boss Kill XP Multiplier and Cave Kill XP Multiplier.
  • Craft XP Multiplier, Generic XP Multiplier (experience over time) and Special XP Multiplier.
  • Explorer Note XP Multiplier.
  • Harvest XP Multiplier is on the Harvest Settings card.

Levels and the level cap

To change how much experience each level needs, or how many levels there are, see custom levels.

On Linux

Linux servers use Auto Config. Add the line to the GameUserSettings.ini card, for example XPMultiplier=2.

Questions

Does the XP multiplier affect tames?

Yes. XP Multiplier scales experience for players and tames.

What XP rate do boosted servers use?

Many use 2 to 5, often together with faster taming and harvesting. Try a value and adjust; it applies at the next restart.
