ARK: Survival Ascended server guide

How to join an ARK: Survival Ascended dedicated server

In ARK: Survival Ascended, choose Join Game, switch to Unofficial, turn on Show Player Servers and search for the server's name. On PC, players can also open the console and type open followed by the Server Address from HaruHost's Details tab.

From the server list

  1. Start ARK: Survival Ascended and choose Join Game.
  2. Pick Unofficial and turn on Show Player Servers.
  3. Search for the server's name, the Server Name on the Base Config card.
  4. Join and enter the server password if it has one.

By address on PC

For a server on Ports, press the console key (usually Tab) and type open followed by the Server Address from the server's Details tab, for example open 203.0.113.10:7777.

Can't join from the same network

When you host on your own address, the server list gives your public address, and many routers can't send a player at home back to it (NAT loopback): friends get in, but joining fails from the PC the server runs on or the same house. Players on the server's network use its Local Address instead, shown on the Details tab: open the console and type open followed by that address.

With the Tunnel

The server shows in the list with the Tunnel's public address, so friends join the same way, with no router setup on your side. See hosting without port forwarding.

Questions

Can Xbox and PlayStation players join my ASA server?

Yes, ARK: Survival Ascended has crossplay. The Allowed Platforms setting lets everyone in by default; see crossplay.

Why can't my friends find the server?

Check that Show Player Servers is on and the name matches. See server not showing.

My friends see the server but can't join. Why?

Most often the server is still on the old version after an ARK update, a password, Allowed Platforms or the whitelist keeps them out, or the server can't be reached from the internet. See friends can't join.
