ARK: Survival Ascended server guide

Back up and restore your ARK: Survival Ascended server

HaruHost backs up your ARK world on a schedule or before updates, keeps as many backups as you choose, and restores one in a single step. Backups can leave out ARK's extra world copies or hold only player data, and player profiles can be exported and imported.

Back up

  • Back up on demand, on a schedule, or before every update with an automation.
  • Choose how many backups to keep; older ones are removed.
  • Skip extra backup saves leaves out ARK's spare save copies when the main save is there, so backups are much smaller.
  • Back up only player data keeps player profiles; world saves, tribe records and cluster transfers are left out.

Restore

Pick a backup and restore it; the server goes back to that moment.

Player profiles

  • Export a player's profile from the Players page as an .arkprofile file.
  • Import up to 20 profiles at once into a stopped server, for example to move players to a new map or server. Each one is shown for review first.

Questions

How do I restore an ARK server save?

Open Backups in HaruHost, pick a backup and restore it.

Why are ARK backups so big?

ARK keeps dated copies of the world. Turn on Skip extra backup saves so backups leave them out when the main save is there.
