Connect the maps
- Create a server for each map on the same PC.
- On each server's Cluster card, set the same Cluster ID.
- Choose what may travel. Prevent Upload and Prevent Download switches cover survivors, dinos and items separately.
- Restart the servers.
The Cluster card also sets how long uploads stay in the obelisk (Tribute Character, Dino and Item Expiration), how soon a dino can be uploaded again, and whether dinos from servers outside the cluster may be downloaded.
The same settings on every map
With Cloud Config, put cards such as Rates & Experience, Breeding, Harvest Settings, Mods or Player Role Settings in one cloud config and choose which maps use it. Change it once and every map gets the change at its next start; each map can still have mods of its own.
Before a map starts using a cloud config, HaruHost shows which of its settings will change. Tools → Cloud Configs shows every cloud config with its cards and servers, and which servers need a restart.
One admin and ban list
Put the Player Role Settings card in the cloud config and every map shares one admin, ban and whitelist list. Admin roles given on the Players page go into it; to ban someone on every map, add them under Banned Players (see kick and ban).
Chat between maps
Discord Chat shares global chat between the maps and a Discord channel, also between servers on different machines, with no mod on the server.
Windows and Linux
Transfers between maps need the maps on one Windows PC. Cloud Config is for Windows servers with Server Config. On Linux, servers can share chat through Discord Chat and one admin, ban and whitelist list through a Player Roles profile.
Questions
How many maps can a cluster have?
As many as your PC can run and your plan has game servers; each map is one server. The ARK wiki measures 7 to 12 GiB of memory per map.
Can maps on different computers share a cluster?
Transfers need the maps on the same PC. Chat, settings through Cloud Config and admin lists can be shared between machines.
Why can't I transfer between my ARK: Survival Ascended maps?
Check these in order: every map has exactly the same Cluster ID; the maps run on the same Windows PC, where HaruHost gives them one shared cluster folder, so there is no ClusterDirOverride to add; the Prevent Upload and Prevent Download switches and Disable Tribute Downloads are off for what you move; the creature isn't blocked by Block Cluster Transfer on the Dino Class Restrictions card; and the map you travel to is running and players can join it directly; if not, see friends can't join. Restart each map after changing its Cluster card.
