Taming speed
- Open the server's settings and the Dino Settings card.
- Set Taming Speed Multiplier (TamingSpeedMultiplier). 1 is the official rate; the slider goes up to 10.
- Restart the server.
Knockout tames
- Wild Dino Torpor Drain Multiplier: lower values make knocked-out creatures stay asleep longer, so you need fewer narcotics.
- Wild Dino Food Drain Multiplier: higher values make a sleeping creature eat its food faster, which speeds up the tame.
Passive tames
In Server Config, the Creatures card has Passive Taming Interval (PassiveTameIntervalMultiplier). Lower values mean less waiting between feeds.
On Linux, add the line to the Game.ini card under [/script/shootergame.shootergamemode], for example PassiveTameIntervalMultiplier=0.5.
Questions
What is a good taming speed for a small server?
Many small and solo servers use 3 to 5 so a tame takes minutes instead of hours. Try a value, tame something you know, and adjust; changes apply at the next restart.
Does taming speed change the levels a tame gets?
No. It changes how long taming takes. The bonus levels still depend on how well the tame went.
Where is TamingSpeedMultiplier in the ini files?
In GameUserSettings.ini under [ServerSettings]. In HaruHost it is Taming Speed Multiplier on the Dino Settings card, and in Server Config the Files tab shows the line.
