ARK: Survival Ascended server ports and port forwarding

With the HaruHost Tunnel you don't have to forward anything: the server gets a public address, even behind CGNAT, and friends find it under Unofficial in ARK's server list. HaruHost also gives every server its own ports, so nothing clashes. To host on your own address instead, forward the server's UDP game port.

Nothing to forward with the Tunnel

  1. Choose Tunnel on the Connection step when you create the server. For an existing server, turn the Tunnel on from its Details tab.
  2. Pick the region closest to your players.
  3. Start the server. Friends find it under Unofficial with Show Player Servers on, at the Tunnel's address.

No router or firewall settings to change, on Windows or Linux. See hosting without port forwarding.

Ports are handled for you

HaruHost gives every server its own ports, so two maps never use the same port and you never set one by hand, with the Tunnel or without it. The Details tab lists them under Ports In Use, and the RCON port HaruHost uses stays private.

Hosting on your own address

  • The port: players connect to the server's game port over UDP; Ports In Use shows it.
  • On Windows: turn on Auto-manage UPnP and HaruHost opens the server's ports on your router when it starts; Auto-manage Firewall adds the Windows Firewall rules. Or forward your port range once; HaruHost shows the rule under Devices → Manage device → Network Settings.
  • On a VPS: open your port range for UDP in the provider's firewall; HaruHost shows it under Devices → Manage device → Network Settings.
