How to install mods on an ARK: Survival Ascended server

Open the server's Mods card in HaruHost, press Browse mods to search CurseForge mods by name, or Add by ID to paste a mod's ID, and start the server. The server downloads the mods, and players get them when they join; mod maps are picked on the Base Config card.

Add mods

  1. Open the server's Server Config (Windows) or Auto Config (Linux) and the Mods card.
  2. Press Browse mods to search CurseForge mods by name, or Add by ID to paste one or more mod IDs.
  3. The list shows each mod by name. Its order is the load order.
  4. Restart the server. Players download the mods when they join, on PC and console.

Mod maps

On the Base Config card, set Map Type to a mod map and pick it, or enter its map name and mod ID.

Passive mods

The Passive Mod ID List holds mods the server downloads but does not load, for mods that only add content another mod uses.

The same mods on every map

In a cluster, put the Mods card in a Cloud Config so every map gets the same list. Server mods on the Base Config card add mods for one map only, after the shared ones.

From Discord

With the Discord bot, /mod add and /mod add-by-id add a mod, and /mod passive-add a passive one.

Questions

Where do I find an ARK: Survival Ascended mod's ID?

On the mod's CurseForge page. In HaruHost you can also press Browse mods, search by name and add the mod without the ID.

Do console players get the mods?

Yes. CurseForge mods work for PC, Xbox and PlayStation players, who download them when they join.

Why didn't my mod load?

Mods load when the server starts, so restart it after changing the list. Check the server's console for the download, and the mod's page for the maps and game version it supports.
