V Rising server guide

PvP, PvE and raid times on a V Rising server

For a PvE server, set Game Settings Preset to StandardPvE, or GameModeType to PvE in ServerGameSettings.json. For PvP, the official presets come with castle raids at set times; StandardPvP_WeekendSiege allows raids on weekends only, and StandardPvP_NoSiege not at all.

PvE

StandardPvE sets GameModeType to PvE, turns off castle raids, lets only clan members loot your remains and makes relics plentiful. The Level30PvE to Level90PvE presets are the same with players starting at that level.

When players can fight

  • PlayerDamageMode: Always, or TimeRestricted to allow PvP only in set hours.
  • CastleDamageMode: Never, Always or TimeRestricted for castle raids.
  • PlayerInteractionSettings: the hours for weekdays and weekends (VSPlayerWeekdayTime, VSCastleWeekdayTime and the weekend pair), 20:00 to 22:00 by default, in the server's time zone.

Other PvP rules

  • DeathContainerPermission: who may loot a fallen player: Anyone or ClanMembers.
  • PvPProtectionMode: how long new players are protected.
  • SiegeWeaponHealth and AnnounceSiegeWeaponSpawn: siege golems and their warning.
  • CastleRaidTimer and CastleRaidProtectionTime: how long a raid lasts and the protection after it.

Questions

Can I switch an existing world from PvP to PvE?

Yes. Change the preset or GameModeType and restart the server; the world and castles stay.
