V Rising server guide

Wipe a V Rising server or start a new world

For a wipe on a schedule, set Reset Days Interval and Day Of Reset. For a fresh world now, change Save Name and restart the server; V Rising makes a new world under that name and the old one stays, so you can switch back.

Scheduled wipes

  • Reset Days Interval: days between wipes, up to 365. 0 turns them off, which is the default.
  • Day Of Reset: the weekday the wipe happens on, or Any.

A fresh world now

  1. Make a backup first if you might want the world back.
  2. Change Save Name, for example from world1 to season2.
  3. Restart the server. Players start over in the new world.

To go back, set the old Save Name again. On Linux these settings are ResetDaysInterval, DayOfReset and SaveName in ServerHostSettings.json.

Questions

Does a fresh world remove bans and admins?

Changing Save Name keeps them. The admin and ban lists are in the server's Settings folder, not in the world's save.
