What HaruHost does for you
- Java: installed for the version you pick, so you don't download a JDK or set paths.
- The start .bat: not needed. Memory is two numbers on the Server Settings page.
- server.properties: the Server Settings page sets MOTD, max players, game mode, difficulty, hardcore, PvP, whitelist, world seed and type, and view and simulation distance.
- Port forwarding: friends join through the Tunnel with no router setup. If you forward instead, HaruHost opens the port on your router and in Windows Firewall once Auto-manage UPnP and Auto-manage Firewall are on.
- Mods: Modrinth mods and modpacks with Fabric, Forge, NeoForge or Quilt; see mods.
- Runs without you: the background service keeps the server running when you sign out.

Questions
How much RAM should a Minecraft server have?
HaruHost starts it with 2 GB. Raise JVM Maximum Memory (MB) on the Server Settings page for more players, mods or a larger view distance.
Can I play on the same PC that runs the server?
Yes. Join with the Local Address from the Details tab when you host on your own address, or the Server Address with the Tunnel.
