HaruHost

Minecraft: Java Edition server guide

Host a Minecraft Java server without port forwarding

Turn on the HaruHost Tunnel and your Minecraft server gets a public address through HaruHost's relay. Friends join with Multiplayer → Add Server, with no router setup, even behind CGNAT, on Starlink or on mobile internet.

How it works

The Tunnel connects your server to a relay region near you. Players connect to the relay, and the relay passes the game traffic to your server. Your router needs no open ports, and your home address stays private.

Turn it on

  1. When you create the server, choose Tunnel on the Connection step. For an existing server, turn the Tunnel on from its Details tab.
  2. Start the server.
  3. Send friends the Server Address from the Details tab.

On Linux, the Tunnel needs HaruHost running as a service, as the one-command install sets it up.

When you need it

  • Your internet provider uses CGNAT, so port forwarding can't work.
  • You play on Starlink, mobile data or a shared network you don't control.
  • You don't want to change router settings or show your home address.

Relay regions and the other games it supports are on the Tunnel page.

Questions

Do I need a separate tunnel program?

No. The Tunnel is built into HaruHost; turn it on per server and there is nothing else to run.
