Install HaruHost
Use this guide to choose the HaruHost install mode that fits your machine, workflow, and remote management needs. The CLI app keeps the full HaruHost feature set, with the main graphical UI handled through the web panel.
Desktop Application
Section titled “Desktop Application”The Desktop Application is the full graphical version of HaruHost.
- Full graphical app
- Managed through the local app or the web panel
- Uses an installer on Windows
- Best when you want a local interface on the same machine
CLI Application
Section titled “CLI Application”The CLI Application provides the same HaruHost features as the Desktop Application, plus service support and remote-first workflows.
- Same HaruHost feature set as the Desktop Application
- Main graphical UI is managed through the web panel
- Initial setup happens through the terminal
- Smaller size
- Can be installed as a service
CLI Installation as a Service
Section titled “CLI Installation as a Service”Installing the CLI app as a service keeps the full HaruHost feature set available while HaruHost runs automatically in the background when the computer turns on.
- Full remote control management without needing to be at the computer
- Starts the manager automatically on boot
- Supports remotely reopening the application
- Supports restarting the operating system from a remote service session
