HaruHostStep by step
- Open the server's Thunderstore Mod Manager and create a profile.
- Search Thunderstore for Valheim mods and add them. Their dependencies come along.
- Press Start on the server and pick the profile under Launch with. HaruHost remembers it for the next start.
- To play without mods, pick Without mods instead.
Your own game
On Windows, the Games page finds your Steam Valheim with Scan games. Press Play and choose the same profile, so mods that every player needs match the server's.
On Linux
Mod profiles work on Linux servers too, with the server on Auto Config. An older Linux server on Manual Config gets them once you switch it to Auto Config.
From Discord
The Discord bot adds and removes mods in the server's profile, so admins can change the mod list without opening the app.
Players and chat keep working
HaruHost's own server add-on runs with or without your mods, so the player list, admin, bans and chat logs work on a modded server too.
Questions
Do players need the mods too?
It depends on the mod. Some run only on the server; others need every player to install them. The mod's Thunderstore page says which, and the Games page gives you the same profile in one click.
Can two Valheim servers use different mods?
Yes. Each server starts with the profile you pick for it, and profiles are shared, so two servers can also use the same one.
