Hytale server guide

Hytale server settings

On Windows, open the server's Server Settings page in HaruHost and set the name, MOTD, password, max players, view radius, world, game mode and memory. They apply at the next start, with no config.json or start script to edit. On Linux, the start script and Hytale's config.json open in the browser.

Server Settings (Windows)

  • Server Name and MOTD: what players see.
  • Password: leave it empty for no password.
  • Max Players: 100 by default.
  • Max View Radius: 32 chunks by default. Lower it if the server uses too much memory or CPU.
  • World Name and Game Mode: Adventure or Creative.
  • JVM Minimum Memory (MB) and JVM Maximum Memory (MB): 1024 and 4096 by default.
  • Launch Arguments: Hytale's own start options, if you need one HaruHost doesn't show.

On Linux

The server's start script opens on Manual Config, with the memory at the top, and Hytale's config.json, with the name, password and world, is on the Files page.

Keep it running

  • Restart on a schedule, or start again after a crash, with an automation.
  • Update with one button, or let an automation update the server.
  • Back up the world on demand or on a schedule and restore it in one step.
