What HaruHost does for you
- SteamCMD: not needed. HaruHost downloads the dedicated server and updates it with one button.
- serverconfig.xml: on Windows, Auto Config shows it as options; on Manual Config it opens in the browser, on Windows and Linux. See server settings.
- Telnet: a console built into the app and the web panel; see the console.
- Players: everyone who has joined with playtime and levels, kick and ban.
- Getting friends in: with the Tunnel, no port forwarding, even behind CGNAT.
- An existing server: import it by its folder, with its saves and settings.
On Windows
- Download HaruHost for Windows and sign in.
- Choose Add → New game server, pick this PC, then 7 Days to Die.
- On the Connection step, choose Tunnel to skip router setup, or Ports to use your own address.
- Create the server and start it. If HaruHost lists missing prerequisites, press Install selected.
- Send friends the Server Address from the server's Details tab.
Install HaruHost on Linux
On Ubuntu (x86-64), run:
curl -fsSL https://haruhost.com/install.sh | sudo bash
HaruHost installs as a service. Sign in with the QR code it shows in your SSH session, then open the web panel from any browser. On Ubuntu it installs Docker with one click when you create your first server.
On Linux
- In the web panel, choose Add → New game server, pick your Linux server, then 7 Days to Die.
- On the Connection step, choose Tunnel, or Ports to use the server's own address. The Tunnel needs HaruHost running as a service, as the install command sets it up.
- Create the server. If Docker isn't installed yet, HaruHost asks first; press Install, then Create Server.
- Start the server and send friends the Server Address from the Details tab.
Questions
Does the server keep running when I stop playing?
Yes. It runs on its own, so friends can play while you are offline. On Linux and with the Windows background service it also runs without anyone signed in.
