HaruHostDifficulty presets
Game Settings Preset sets everything at once:
- Default, the game as Keen made it, recommended for first-time players.
- Relaxed, fewer enemies and more resources and loot, for building and light adventuring.
- Hard, more enemies that are more aggressive.
- Survival, more aggressive enemies plus extra survival mechanics.
- Custom, to set each of the settings below yourself.
New in 1.0
- Flame Level for Flame Altars in the Shroud: the Flame level players need before they can place Flame Altars in the Shroud, from 0 to 20 (11 by default).
- Automatic for Random Spawner Amount: a new choice for the amount of enemies in the world, next to Few, Normal, Many and Extreme.
The settings people change most
- Player Health Factor, Player Stamina Factor and Player Mana Factor.
- Enemy Damage Factor, Enemy Health Factor, Boss Damage Factor and Boss Health Factor.
- Shroud Time Factor, how long players can stay in the Shroud, and Shroud Curse, which Easy turns off and Hard makes twice as likely.
- Tombstone Mode, whether players drop only materials, everything or nothing when they die.
- Day Time Duration and Night Time Duration, from 2 to 60 minutes.
- Combat Experience Factor, Mining Experience Factor and Exploration/Quests Experience Factor.
- Plant Growth Speed Factor and Resource Drop Stack Amount Factor.
- Enable Durability and Enable Starving Debuff.
- Max Players, up to 16, and Enable Voice Chat and Enable Text Chat.
Passwords and groups
In User Groups, the Admin, Friend and Guest groups each have their own password and what their players may do, such as kicking and banning, using chests or building in bases, plus slots reserved for the group. Players join as the group whose password they enter.
How to change them
- Open the server in HaruHost, in the app or the web panel, and go to its Server Config tab.
- Choose a Game Settings Preset, or Custom to change each setting. Each one shows what it does and its default.
- Save and restart the server to apply the changes.
It works the same on Windows and Linux.
Questions
How do I change the difficulty of my Enshrouded server?
Set Game Settings Preset on the Server Config tab to Relaxed, Hard or Survival, or to Custom to set each value yourself, then restart the server.
Do I need to edit enshrouded_server.json?
No. Every setting is on the Server Config tab and every password in User Groups, on Windows and Linux.
