How to install mods on a Palworld server

In HaruHost, the mod tools (UE4SS, PalSchema and HaruHost Core) are already installed on every new Palworld server. For Steam Workshop mods, switch the server's Mods page to Steam mode, add mods from the list or by ID, and restart.

Add Steam Workshop mods

  1. Open the server's Mods page and choose Steam mode. Sign in with a Steam account that owns Palworld.
  2. Add mods from the catalog, or paste their Workshop IDs.
  3. Install, then restart the server.

What your players need

Some mods only run on the server and need nothing from players. Others also have to be installed on every player's PC; the mod's page says so. The Allow Client Mods setting decides whether players with mods may join.

Console players can't install mods, so on a crossplay server, pick mods that only run on the server.

After a Palworld update

Press Reinstall on the server's Mods page to update your Steam Workshop mods.

Questions

Do my friends need the same mods?

Only for mods that change things on the player's side; their mod page says so. Mods that only run on the server need nothing from players.

Where do I put Palworld server mods?

Nowhere by hand. HaruHost installs them into the server for you.
