How to set up an Enshrouded 1.0 dedicated server on Windows

What HaruHost does for you

SteamCMD: not needed. HaruHost downloads the Enshrouded dedicated server, without a Steam account, and updates it with one button.
Visual C++: if it is missing when you start the server, HaruHost offers to install it in one click.
enshrouded_server.json: no file to edit. The Auto Config page has 45 settings, from the game settings preset to health, stamina, enemy and boss strength and day length.
Passwords: the Admin, Friend and Guest groups each get their own password, set in User Groups.
Port forwarding: friends join through the Tunnel with no router setup. If you forward the port instead, HaruHost opens it on your router and in Windows Firewall once Auto-manage UPnP and Auto-manage Firewall are on.
An existing server: import it, with its world, instead of starting over.

Download HaruHost for Windows and sign in.
Choose Add → New game server, pick this PC, then Enshrouded. Give the server a name.
Choose Create New Server and Use Defaults, or Import Existing Server to bring an existing one with its world.
Set the game settings on the Server Config tab and the passwords on the User Groups tab.
On the Connection step, choose Tunnel, or Ports to use your own address.
Create the server, wait for the download and start it. If Visual C++ is missing, press Install selected.
Send friends the Server Address from the Details tab and the Friend or Guest password.

Make a backup in HaruHost before the world's first start on 1.0. An automation can also back up the server before every update.

Do I need Visual C++ for an Enshrouded server?

Yes, the Enshrouded dedicated server needs it. HaruHost checks for it when you start the server and installs it in one click when it is missing.

Which port does an Enshrouded server use?

One UDP port, 15637 by default. HaruHost gives each server its own port from your port range and shows it on the Details tab.

How do I give a friend admin on my Enshrouded server?

Send them the Admin group's password from User Groups instead of the Friend or Guest one. They enter it when they join.
