How to Connect

Use this guide when you want to connect to your own V Rising server. Follow the same flow HaruHost shows in How to connect: make sure the server is reachable first, let HaruHost prepare the tunnel if needed, then finish the direct join flow inside V Rising.

Part 1: Make sure the server is reachable

If players cannot join yet, solve reachability first.

The easiest path is Tunnel. HaruHost prepares the connection for you so the server can be reachable over the internet without you having to manually set up port forwarding and firewall rules first.

Step 1: Open your server and start the connection guide

Open your V Rising server page and use How to connect.

Step 2: Let HaruHost prepare the tunnel

If the server is offline or the tunnel is not prepared for the current run yet, HaruHost shows the prepare step inside the guide.

Step 3: Copy the direct join address from HaruHost

Once the guide is ready, HaruHost shows the exact value to use:

  • Direct Join Address: the full host and port to paste into V Rising

If the address is not working, treat it as a reachability problem. First check that the server shows Online in HaruHost. If the server was started without the tunnel being properly prepared, run the How to connect flow again and let HaruHost prepare it.

Part 2: Join the server

V Rising uses the in-game direct connect flow here.

Step 1: Open Play

Launch V Rising and select Play from the main menu.

Step 2: Choose Online Play

On Select Game Mode, choose Online Play.

After you choose Online Play, V Rising shows the realm selection screen. The next action is Show all Servers in the bottom-right.

Step 4: Show all servers

Use Show all Servers to move into the full server browser.

Step 5: Open the Join Game browser

V Rising then opens Join Game. The Direct Connect action is at the bottom center of this screen.

Step 6: Open Direct Connect

Choose Direct Connect instead of searching through the full public list.

Step 7: Paste the full direct join address

Paste the HaruHost Direct Join Address exactly as shown, including the port, then press Connect.

Step 8: Wait for loading

V Rising starts loading the session while it connects through the HaruHost tunnel.

Step 9: Finish character setup or selection

After the connection succeeds, continue through character setup or character selection to enter the server world.

Troubleshooting

The server is not reachable from the internet

Use Tunnel as the first fix. That is the main HaruHost advantage here, because it gives you a reliable path without making you manually configure router port forwarding and firewall rules first.

That is expected while HaruHost is getting the server into the correct state for a tunnel-backed run. Start the server from the guide and wait for the direct join address to appear.

V Rising cannot connect after I paste the address

  • Check that the server status shows Online in HaruHost.
  • Re-copy the exact Direct Join Address, including the port.
  • If you enabled the tunnel while the server was already running, let HaruHost start or restart the server from the guide.
  • If you use manual firewall and port forwarding instead of the tunnel path, re-check those rules separately.

I do not see Direct Connect

  • Make sure you used Show all Servers first.
  • Wait for the full Join Game browser to open.
  • Look for Direct Connect at the bottom center of that browser screen.

The flow is simple:

  1. Open How to connect in HaruHost.
  2. Let HaruHost prepare Tunnel if needed.
  3. Copy the Direct Join Address.
  4. In V Rising go to Play → Online Play → Show all Servers → Direct Connect.
  5. Paste the full address and connect.
