Self Host on Windows

Self hosting Project Zomboid on Windows means you run the dedicated server on your own machine while HaruHost handles the daily management workflow.

Prepare your Windows host

Section titled “Prepare your Windows host”
  1. Use a stable Windows machine that can stay online.
  2. Install HaruHost and complete the first setup.
  3. Create a Project Zomboid server and verify a first successful startup.

Validate connectivity

Section titled “Validate connectivity”
  1. Confirm your server is Online in HaruHost.
  2. Test local connection first.
  3. If players join from outside your network, validate firewall and router settings.

Keep operations stable

Section titled “Keep operations stable”
  1. Define your restart workflow before opening to a larger player group.
  2. Add automatic restart for fast recovery if the server process stops.
