Change difficulty, blood drain and day length on a V Rising server

Pick Difficulty_Easy, Difficulty_Normal or Difficulty_Brutal as the Game Difficulty Preset, or set the parts yourself in ServerGameSettings.json, such as BloodDrainModifier, SunDamageModifier and how strong enemies and V Blood bosses are.

The difficulty presets

  • Difficulty_Easy: 75% blood drain and sun damage, enemies at 70% power, V Blood bosses at 80% health and 60% power.
  • Difficulty_Normal: the standard game.
  • Difficulty_Brutal: enemies at 140% power; V Blood bosses with 125% health, 170% power and three levels higher; 25% more loot and half the durability loss.

Survival settings

  • BloodDrainModifier: how fast your blood pool empties.
  • SunDamageModifier: damage from sunlight.
  • GarlicAreaStrengthModifier, HolyAreaStrengthModifier and SilverStrengthModifier: the other vampire weaknesses.
  • DurabilityDrainModifier: how fast gear wears out.

Enemies and bosses

  • UnitStatModifiers_Global: MaxHealthModifier, PowerModifier and LevelIncrease for every enemy.
  • UnitStatModifiers_VBlood: the same three for V Blood bosses.
  • VampireStatModifiers: the players' own health, power and damage taken.

Day length and blood moons

GameTimeModifiers sets the day. A full day lasts 1080 seconds (DayDurationInSeconds), daylight runs from 9:00 to 17:00 game time, and a blood moon comes every 10 to 18 days. Shorten daylight to make sun less of a threat.

Questions

Can I use a difficulty preset and change one value?

The preset decides those values. To change one, leave the preset empty and set the values you want in ServerGameSettings.json.
