Multi-Instance
HaruHostGSM allows you to reuse the same Ark Survival Ascended installation for multiple servers. This saves disk space and means you only update a single install instead of every server, which helps on slower internet connections.
How it works
Section titled “How it works”- Multiple servers can point to the same install directory while keeping their own configs, saves, and ports.
- HaruHostGSM coordinates startup so additional instances wait for the first instance to finish loading. It can take a few minutes before all instances come online.
Update procedure (shared install)
Section titled “Update procedure (shared install)”Only one instance should run the game update to avoid conflicting writes.
- Shut down all servers that share the same install directory. Use Bulk Actions for speed.
- Run Update on exactly one of those servers.
- After the update completes, all servers using that install directory are now updated. Start the others as needed.
Known limitations
Section titled “Known limitations”- Update conflicts: if more than one multi‑instance tries to update simultaneously, the process will collide and fail. Always update a single instance while the others are stopped.
- Startup delay: additional instances wait for the first server to come online. Expect a short delay (up to a few minutes) before every instance reports Online.
If you run into issues, confirm all instances are stopped before updating and start them again in sequence after the first one finishes.
